Job Description

Job Title: Component Development Engineer

Experience: 7 – 12 years

Education: B.E. (Mechanical) from IIT / NIT

Age: 27 – 34 years

Job Role & Responsibilities:

  • Develop transmission gears, shafts, and assemblies in collaboration with vendors.

  • Review drawings and resolve manufacturability issues with R&D.

  • Plan processes, select fixtures, tools, and gauges.

  • Prepare process sheets, conduct trials, develop samples, and troubleshoot issues.

  • Estimate cycle times and ensure capacity readiness as per business plan.

  • Solve quality issues and implement process improvements.

  • Monitor new developments for the first 3 months.

Competency Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience in hot & cold forging, gear machining (CNC, VMC, Broaching, Hobbing, Shaping), gear shaving, teeth grinding & honing, bore honing.

  • Basic knowledge of heat treatment for gears & shafts.

  • Understanding of gear microgeometry and problem-solving.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, UniGraphics, ForgeNXT, KISSsoft for gear evaluation.

  • Experience in selecting and approving fixtures, gauges, and tools.

  • CNC programming, cycle time estimation, and cost sheet preparation.

  • Up-to-date with latest trends in gear manufacturing.
