Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, you will harness the power of the latest tools and technologies to craft cutting-edge software solutions for the Information Management Systems product. Your responsibilities encompass the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring that components are meticulously designed, rigorously tested, debugged, verified, and poised for seamless integration into IBM’s world-class hierarchical database solutions. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in aiding organizations to enhance their business outcomes in the global marketplace.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a key member of our dynamic team, you will play a vital role in crafting exceptional software experiences.
Your responsibilities will encompass the design and implementation of innovative features, fine-tuning and sustaining existing code for optimal performance, and guaranteeing top-notch quality through rigorous testing and debugging.
Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and you’ll be working closely with fellow developers, designers, and product managers to ensure our software aligns seamlessly with user expectations.
As a Front-End Developer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-performance, visually appealing enterprise level web applications end to end, working closely with our design and back-end teams as well as the broad organization to develop and maintain single-page applications that are deployed around the world in support of our enterprise cloud business.

Responsibilities

Web Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain user interfaces for cloud-based applications. Build and enhance responsive single-page applications using JavaScript frameworks like React, Node.js, and Express, ensuring world-class performance and usability.
API Integration: Work with RESTful APIs and GraphQL to deliver seamless front-end to back-end integration.
Testing: Write clean, well-documented, and testable code adhering to best practices and industry standards. Implement and maintain unit and integration tests using modern testing frameworks like Jasmine, ensuring code quality, stability and reliability.
Code Reviews: Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback to fellow developers to maintain high code quality and share knowledge within the team.
Collaboration: Collaborate with UI/UX designers and distributed teams to translate designs into functional and visually appealing user interfaces, adhering to Agile methodologies and leveraging effective communication and collaboration tools across time zones.
Performance Optimization: Optimize front-end performance to ensure fast loading times and smooth user experiences.
Agile Development: Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, to ensure timely delivery of features.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

Experience: 3-8 years of experience in front-end development.

Technical Skills

Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
Strong proficiency in React.js, including component-based architecture, state management (e.g., Redux, Context API), and testing.
Experience with Node.js and Express for building server-side components.
Understanding of RESTful APIs and Graphql.
Experience with testing frameworks like Jasmine or Jest.
Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
Knowledge of task runners and build tools such as Grunt, Gulp, or Webpack.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment.
Passion for building high-quality user interfaces and a strong desire to learn new technologies.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the ability to work in an iterative, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

Experience with TypeScript.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience with cloud platforms like IBM, AWS or Azure.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
Understanding of Kubernetes
